BMW 7 Series 2016: The First Rumors

The German car manufacturer neither confirms nor denies, but rumors follow.

This car will give a twist to competition, Audi and Mercedes on all. The new BMW 7 Series will be beautiful and full of novelties, from every point of view. From motors to detail, passing through the interior and other amenities. According to the magazine Car & Driver, the new German carmaker’s creature should have engines derived from modular motor architecture. The engines, as always, will be gasoline and diesel, but the novelty concerns the power, which will be different according to the two units.


Only on the hybrid version of the BMW 7 Series, the four-cylinder engine should be coupled to an electric powerplant with 300 hp of power. For the time being there are no confirmations, but the information has not been confirmed nor denied by the automaker in Munich that will launch the new model in the period 2015-2016.

The new BMW X5 M and X6 M mount the V8 4.4 with 575 hp

The 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 rises to 575 hp and the BMW X5 M and X6 M thus burn 0-100 km / h in 4.2 seconds. At the same time, consumption also decreases.

30/10/2014 – BMW returns to develop the high performance SUV theme and transforms the X5 and X6 into cars that can burn 0-100 km / h in just 4.2 seconds. This result is achieved thanks to the modifications introduced by Motorsport technicians. On all the 4.4-liter V8 biturner engine, which develops 4% more power and thus reaches 575 hp. The torque increases by 10% compared to the previous unit and is 750 Nm, available between 2,200 and 5,500 rpm. These values ​​do not affect fuel consumption (11.1 l / 100km) and emissions (258 g / km), both lower than 20% and a half to quantify the goodness of the solutions introduced for energy saving. The maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h.

The revised V8 also offers a welcome solution to the brave drivers who want to bring the BMW X5 M and X6 M on the track: the particular geometry of the oil torque and suction horn allows to reach curve values ​​up to 1.2 g without risking The engine oil supply. The Motorsport engineers then modified the double-joint front axle kinematism, increasing the bell and thus improving the agility. This modification corresponds to more traditional upgrades: the springs are more rigid, the body is lowered by 10 mm, and the Dynamic Damper Control adjusts the suspensions in the Comfort, Sport and Sport + modes. Driving dynamics also affect different sized alloy wheels, 20 inches wide but available at the front at 285/40 and 325/35 rear.

Optional 21-inch forged wheels, covered by Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in sizes 285/35 and 325/30. New high-performance brakes are debut, lighter in the total of 1.6 pounds and 50% larger pincers. The steering system includes the electric servo and is also configurable in Comfort, Sport and Sport + options. At the stylistic level, the two cars are characterized by new bumper bands, four-way exhaust system, integrated speaker and more profile bushes, while the seats are covered with Merino leather, the steering wheel is also anchored in leather and the sky has anthracite finish. Numerous elements are then personalized with the M logo, starting with the 8-step Steptronic Automatic Launch Control (with Launch Control function). The traction is integral. The BMW X5 M and X6 M will be presented at the Los Angeles Motor Show, scheduled from November 18th to November 30th.
